OUR STORY

About Us

Founded in 2015. Rooted in tradition. Built for the next generation.

Thunder Kung Fu Academy
WHO WE ARE

More Than a Martial Arts School

Thunder Kung Fu Academy opened its doors in June 2015 with one mission - to pass down authentic Chinese martial arts and culture to the next generation. The name itself reflects that. In Chinese, "Thunder" is the homonym of "Shangde," meaning morality - what to learn first, what to do first.

We believe martial arts positively changes lives. Not just through physical fitness, but through the discipline, respect, and character it builds in every student. Our instructors don't just teach how to fight - they teach how to live well.

Today we operate a 5,000+ sq ft fully equipped training hall in Dublin, CA, and serve students across the Bay Area. We are proud members of the USA Wushu Kung Fu Federation.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Our Values

01

Authenticity

We teach traditional Chinese martial arts the way they were meant to be taught - with real lineage, real technique, and real respect for the art form.

02

Character

Every class reinforces discipline, respect, and integrity. We recognize effort and celebrate achievement because martial arts shapes who you are, not just what you can do.

03

Community

Thunder Kung Fu is a family. We build a welcoming, supportive environment where students of all ages and backgrounds can grow together.

04

Culture

We are committed to preserving and sharing Chinese martial arts and cultural heritage - from traditional forms to Dragon-Lion Dance - with the Bay Area community.
